My name is Eamonn Dorgan and I have wrestled for Canada and Ireland at international competitions. I am a high school teacher at an all boys school in the Toronto area. Additionally, I am the coach for my high school team and a volunteer community coach. The purpose of this letter is to give you some insight into my recent success, to share with you my future goals and hopefully secure sponsorship assisting me attain my goal of Olympic medalist.
At the world championships in China last September, I placed 22nd overall, narrowly missing out on a top 12 finish. At the end of March I competed at the 2007 Senior National Championships in Calgary, receiving my third Senior National medal and my second Senior National gold medal. Also, I won the 2007 Commonwealth Championships with only one point scored against me overall.
I once again qualified to compete for Canada and Ireland at the 2007 World Championships (2008 Olympic Qualifier) which will be held this September in Azerbaijan. I will be representing Ireland at this competition, costs associated with the tournament will be self funded. This year I will be competing and training in Europe and in the United States. My goal this year is to place in the top eight at the World Championships which will qualify me to compete in the 2008 Olympic Games.
